If you love prowling the aisles at Lowe’s or Home Depot, enjoy fixing things, or just want to help recycle building materials and home goods while supporting adequate housing, then ReStore needs you. Setup, display, cleanup of donations, and merchandising are completely volunteer efforts. With little paid staff, the ReStore can always use your help.
Helping Hands are always welcome!
The ReStore is always looking for volunteers, ages 18 and over, to work in the store. Please wear jeans and closed toed shoes. Sandals and flip-flops are not permitted for safety reasons. Large groups should contact the Volunteer Services Director directly to set up any volunteer times.
Volunteers clean donations, set up displays, help customers, load purchases…and anything else to assist the daily operations of the ReStore!
Volunteers are needed:
Tuesday-Friday 10am-6:00pm (10am-2pm, 2pm-6pm, or all day 10am-6pm)
Saturdays 10am-5pm (10am-2pm, 1pm-5pm, or all day 10am-5pm)
While the Habitat ReStore sells many of the products other retail construction and home improvement stores sell, it varies in other aspects like its product selection, variability, etc. Some of the activities we would like our volunteers to assist in may include, but are not limited to:
- maintenance of the store
- organization of merchandise
- inventory (twice a year)
- receiving (unloading and loading donated materials and merchandise)
- truck runs
- data entry
- promotions (distribution, mailings, etc.)
If you would like to volunteer with the FBHFH ReStore, please complete the Volunteer Waiver
