As some of you may have heard, thieves broke into the equipment sheds on August 1 and stole thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment. For those of you who are not familiar, click here to view a local news report on the incident. However, recent developments have allowed us to recover from this tragedy.
Leading this outpouring of community support was Home Depot, who, after hearing of the incident, donated, at no charge, all of the equipment that we lost. In addition, two foundations requested applications for funding as a result of the theft. The significant support FBHFH received, both from businesses in the community as well as from supporters through donations, has humbled the staff here. Though this incident had the potential to set back our plans for the fall build, thanks to the overwhelming outpouring of support from the community, the fall build is still on schedule and the important work of FBHFH can continue. Thank you Home Depot and to all those who came to our aid in this time of need.
